  • Two women fighting in a kitchen
  • My roommate is genuinely mad that I don't want to move out so her boyfriend of two months can move in.

Like am I tripping?? Because it went from her wanting to find a place with him to her wanting me out. I'm on the lease by the way. We got an apartment together over a year ago and we just renewed it. She's known
  • the guy for 2 months!! She keeps sending me apartments and college students looking for a 3rd or 4th roomate but I literally can't afford a down payment. Even if I could, I literally don't want to move. I can easily

  • find another roomate. She talked to my boyfriend in private when he was staying the night last weekend and told him to convince me to move out so her boyfriend can live here instead. She was like "well what do i have to do to convince you to leave?

  • Because this is just going to end up in a fight. I'm really mad because it's going to be a hassle to move my things" ??!?!?!? | pay my rent on time, I keep my spaces clean, I quite literally am not a problem. Her only problem with me is that

  • she wants him to move in and wants me to leave. Am I overreacting? Like what steps do I have to take from here because I calmly told her I'm not leaving. I'm happy with my home.

  • Gregan32 The current arrangement doesn't work for her so it's on her to find a new one elsewhere. Stand your ground.... Oh and point out that it's ridiculous to move in with someone after two months.....

  • TheHypnogoggish One million percent this. Two months? Craziness. Let them move in with the him.

  • AffectionateChair644 Hold on tightly to your place. Wear her out. She can kick rocks.

  • That-Fly-8339 Lol hold out (maybe lock up personals if she get real icky) and update us when they break up before your current lease ends.

  • Coolb3ans00 OP Oh no i should've mentioned she wants me to leave in a couple of months

  • imaflirtdotcom Yeah i bet he can't qualify for a lease and she realized it. Think she might try moving him in squatter style? I'd limit how often he can show up there, too. A whole lease without problems messed up in two months of meeting this man is wild btw lol

  • Coffee1392 Not tripping at all OP! Literally. I'm flabbergasted. You should invite your boyfriend over more often as well as you other friends. She obviously sees the apartment you equally pay rent for as "her apartment." Ice her out.

  • robroxx 2 options... 1. She pays your down payment and movie costs for the new place. She also pays any penalties of breaking the current lease because most landlords won't remove someone from a lease. 2. You stay out and just tell her your on the lease and you will not be leaving.

  • Allthemuffinswow She's up to something shady, or the guy is pushing her to do this. What happened with their little plan of her moving out and then her and her new boyfriend getting a place together? No, something stinks to high heaven about this. Maybe the guy has bad credit or a bad leasing history or something. It kind of sounds like she might be trying to sneak this guy in, without putting him on the lease or something else fishy. Something is weird though.

  • Don't let her bu y you out of there, if that's where you want to stay. Stay right where you are, and make sure that you tell your landlord what is going on as well. If she's trying to go behind your back already and say sh to your boyfriend, there's no telling what else she's going to do or what else she'll say or who else she'll say it to. Get in front of it right now, and head it off, before it becomes a bigger problem.

  • Start keeping tabs on, or locking up, your personal belongings, as well. Either buy a small, personal safe for documents like your passport or birth certificate or keep them at a relatives house where you know they'll be 110% secure, ya know? Maybe she won't be the type to do something to your property, but how well do you know this new boyfriend of hers, or his friends? I'm going to guess not too well, right?

  • Swimming Solid9565 this is the best answer def talk to landlord and nip this in the bud before it "becomes a fight" her words

  • Cool_Relative7359 Just don't entertain it and have your bf shut it down as well. "I'm not moving, it's not up for discussion or negotiation. No means no. /she's not moving, it's not up for discussion or negotiation. No means no" Just repeat that whenever she brings it up, and then you walk away and ignore her, enforce the boundary.
